Fatigue
Yes. Normal results are reassuring, but some results can scrape into normal without sitting in the optimal range for you. So those normal results for your iron, thyroid function, vitamin B12 and vitamin D may actually be contributing to your fatigue. We look at your results alongside all aspects of your health to see the whole picture, because exhaustion rarely has just one cause. Then we'll make a plan to help you feel like yourself again.
Yes, a naturopath can support you through perimenopause. Changing hormones may contribute to a variety of symptoms that may affect your energy, mood, cognition, sleep, digestion, ability to cope with stress, joint pain and menstrual flow and regularity. Together we explore all the contributing factors, not just hormones and connect the dots so we build a plan that is personalised to you and fits into your life right now.
Yes. I'm based in Sydney and see women all over Australia one-to-one on Zoom, so you can talk things through from the comfort of your own home, without the hassle of a commute or trying to find a park. Blood tests are done at your local pathology collection centre, and specialised tests, like a gut microbiome test, use kits that are posted to your door. I'm happy to work alongside your GP and share results and plans with them, with your permission.
My philosophy is test, don't guess, and to work within your budget. At a bare minimum, a comprehensive blood panel is always helpful, so we can make sure your results are optimal for you, not just scraping into normal. Other tests depend on your health goals and symptoms, and I'll only recommend them if I believe they'll help rule out a contributing factor. Common tests I use include hormone testing, and cortisol testing for energy, sleep or stress concerns. I also use Microba gut microbiome testing, which I've done additional training in, as choosing the right test and interpreting the patterns is nuanced. I choose tests that will shape your plan, so you're only paying for what's useful.
